How we track AI exposure

Five-layer value-chain taxonomy. Two data sources. One quote-verification rule. No ads, no affiliate links, no LLM-generated claims.

AI Value Chain

The 5 layers
Chip
NVDA, AMD, AVGO, TSM, ASML — silicon, accelerators, fabrication, HBM.
Infra
MSFT (Azure), AMZN (AWS), GOOG/GOOGL (GCP), ORCL — hyperscaler compute + GPUs at scale.
Model
MSFT (OpenAI), GOOG/GOOGL (Gemini), META (Llama) — direct exposure to proprietary frontier models.
App
AAPL, CRM, ADBE, NOW, PLTR — end-customer products where AI is the integration layer.
Enabler
ANET, VRT, EQIX, DLR, NEE — networking, cooling, datacenter REITs, power. Picks-and-shovels.

Tickers can carry multiple layers. NVDA is chip + enabler (HBM partnerships). GOOGL is infra + app + model. AVGO is chip + enabler (custom silicon programs).

Data Sources

Primary, verifiable, free
  • SEC EDGAR 13F-HR — quarterly institutional holdings, refreshed ~45 days after quarter end. We pull Berkshire's 13F-HR via edgartools 5.35.1 and preserve the OtherManager field to attribute holdings to specific portfolio managers (Buffett / Combs / Weschler / Abel).
  • ARK Invest EOD CSV — daily ETF holdings published by ARK at end of trading. We pull all six funds (ARKK / ARKW / ARKQ / ARKG / ARKF / PRNT) and roll up per ticker (Cathie's total exposure, not per-fund slices).

Quote Verification

Four rules, no exceptions
  1. 1. Source URL must be clickable — every quote links to verifiable source material (transcript, AGM page, official PR).
  2. 2. Original text must be manually verified — the curator (Yona Yin Hong) reads the source before publishing. LLM-suggested drafts do not bypass this step.
  3. 3. Archived excerpt — a snippet of source text is stored to defeat link-rot.
  4. 4. Named curator — each quote carries the curator's name. No anonymous claims.

What We Don't Do
